What's Up Wednesday - Trip Around the Blogosphere February 1st

So, other than my fantastic Sweet Deal Giveaway, and the fact that I ended up with gluten-contamination sickness yesterday (and yes, I'm still dealing with the after-effects today), I decided it was still worth a jaunt around the blogosphere to see what's happening with the blogs I follow.

WickedlyBookish is doing a fun little meme (yeah, I basically have no idea what those are still, but it's on my list of things to do...lol) so I thought I'd play along:
To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…
• What are you currently reading? I'm currently reading I Chose Vengeance by Joseph Hess, and Double You by Nell Peters (apparently, one that isn't up on Goodreads yet so I'll have to manually add it later).
• What did you recently finish reading?  I just finished up The Next Right Thing by Dan Barden.
• What do you think you’ll read next? I know that next I will be reading Taming Might Alaska by William C. Anderson because I was hired by someone through Fiverr to read it. ;)

ReadingByKindleFire, BigAl'sBooksandPals,YearningtoRead, LiveToRead , and KaylasReadsandReviews all have really great book reviews up. ExistentialEnnui also celebrated his blog-o-versary by posting a book review (Happy 5 years!!).

FromtheTBRpile noticed that lately she's seen a whole lot of books with the word "daughter" in the title, which is pretty ironic since Readingforsanity shared that the pregnant ladies she knows all happen to be preggers with girls! (Too bad she didn't ask me, since my sister is preggers with a boy).

ANewbie'sGuideToPublishing and Earth'sBookNook are doing a big ol' Kindle Fire Giveaway, while Phatfiber is once again giving away a wonderful batt of yummy fiber (gosh I wish I had more time to spend spinning yarn!!). TheWriteToMakeALiving also shared a great Black History Month Blog Hop Giveaway.

Peacefrompieces posted a lovely poem, reminding me why I am going to spend my first Satuday off in quite a while spending time with my mother for her school's fundraiser... ;)

FeatheredQuillBookReviews shared a lovely bit of information for all of you self-pubbed or hoping to be self-pubbed authors on how to design your book.

ARitschMansLegacy told of the suffering he faced while going for his first goal for 2012 - giving up soda! I can understand that one, after having heard from a doctor recently that soda and juice (even 100% juice) should be a no-no in my diet because it's "all sugar"... sigh... Meanwhile, ThePhantomParagrapher was also suffering, but from a case of bad luck, having had her screen damaged!

Jeanzbookreview tackled an author interview and nailed it! Meanwhile, AThreeWayTie talked about how as a writer, reading a review of your work can be a double-edged sword (and I definitely agree, but obviously since I still review books I feel like the benefits outweigh the costs).

All-onWriting had a guest post from Matt Patterson, author of My Emily. BookedUp also had a guest post all about the serialization of novels - really good stuff!

AJArdntBooks shared a coupon code, good at Alibris, for $1 every order in February. Nice!

Finally, TheFairyTaleNerd, FallIntoBooks, and MyNeuroticBookAffair all shared what books they are waiting on, all of which sounded really good... there's just too many great books out there to choose from!!

Please go check out all of these great blogs, and don't forget to enter my giveaway!
