My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Follow the intertwining lives of a Nazi and a Jew as they experience the war. The historical facts sprinkled here and there really added to the story, and there's an incompleteness to some of the loss of life that is very realistic and portrays the shock of the mass casualties during the Holocaust. The characters are thoughtful and not caricatures, and well written. My only complaint is that it felt slow and boring at parts, making it have less of an appeal to keep reading and instead inviting me to put it down and go on to other things.
