This is the first of an amazing series that has been a favorite of mine since I was a young child. It lays the foundation for an amazing land filled with personified woodland creatures. There are interesting characters, a unique plot, and enough action to keep the reader involved. The descriptions are rich and bring to mind highly detailed and colorful images. This is a true masterpiece and a personal favorite that I have reread many times!
