My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I wanted to love this book - the dust jacket tells a tale of hardship and reconciliation in the aftermath of a World War. Sadly, this book didn't quite live up to my expectations. It started off well enough, and I found the characters to be believable - but then it just kind of trickled off. It was very anti-climatic. I also struggled with some of the vocabulary, which is saying something since I tend to have a rather large one! This might be a tough read for readers who don't enjoy big words. Overall, I only found this book to be ok.
